Remembering Randy Pausch

In 2006, Randy Pausch, 47, Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In August, doctors told him that he had “three to six months of good health left.”
In September, Pausch delivered a lecture titled “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” as part of the “last lecture” series at Carnegie Mellon in which faculty are asked to give a hypothetical final talk. The lecture became a worldwide phenomenon, although he has said he intended it for his children. I have seen it a few times and it is always inspiring. It is a lesson not only on life but on communication skills also. Randy was a virtuoso in the art of teaching and communication.
Some of you may have missed this. Randy later gave another lecture – his real last lecture on time management This one is for all of us. Very pragmatic talk peppered with subtle humor and time management tips that he really practiced and we can also actually use. It is a must watch.
Though Randy is no more with us, his last 2 lectures are going to inspire generations to come.
Here is a transcript of the time management lecture if you are not able to watch the video for some reason -http://download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/Randy/Randy/TMenglishTranscript.pdf
